landing page product design conversion

the role of the page

a product is only as strong as the page that introduces it.

mycampuspal had a story worth telling. a product built by a student, for students, funded by the university's own innovation competition. the landing page had one job: communicate that clearly, quickly, and in a way that made someone want to sign up before they finished reading.

with 300+ people already on the waitlist before launch, the page wasn't starting from zero. but it still had to convert, and it had to do it well.

what went into it

built with next.js and tailwind css. the design had to feel like the product itself: clean, modern, and made specifically for students. not generic saas. not corporate. something a university student would open, scan, and actually trust.

every section was written and designed to move the visitor forward. hero, features, social proof, pricing, call to action. each one earning its place on the page. the copy was just as important as the layout, and i wrote all of it too.

the result

the page launched alongside the product in march 2026 and handled waitlist signups, onboarding traffic, and ambassador referrals all from one url. it's the front door to everything mycampuspal is, and it does its job without getting in the way.

when you build the product and the page that sells it, you see clearly how much the two things depend on each other. this one got both right.
